Itchy Fingers Lynny out of Bellerby, England, United Kingdom has a wonderful assortment of corn dollies and straw favors handmade by Lynn.  Lynn’s love of crafting brought her to the Wensleydale Popup Gallery, where she began teaching Corn Dolly Workshops.  She says on her profile,

“I produced a number of Corn Dollies and Straw Favours for the display and so I have finally taken the plunge and opened an Etsy shop!”

Make a pig in a day at Gayle Mill

In November I went on a course to make a pig in a day at Gayle Mill near Hawes. The teacher was Josie East who had prepared all the willow in advance.

Stage 1 involved creating the basic shape of the pig:

Once the basic shape was created the willow was woven around the body and legs inserted:

By the end of the day it really had changed from Air Balloon to Pig with lovely curly Corn Dolly tail:

It was an excellent day and I can really recommend having a go at Willow Weaving!
